2 E d i t o r i a l Thus, this  issue  should  lead  to  new  reflections  on  schizophrenia  and  its treatment. The final session was devoted to two pioneers in schizophrenia research and treat- ment. The Nobel Prize-winner Prof Arvid Carlsson presented his views in an excellent lecture. The late Paul Janssen, who had a close connection with Dr Jean-Paul Macher, was remembered in a presentation of personal impressions of his which he had recorded during a conference, just a few months before his unexpected death. We thank his wife, Dora Janssen, for being at Rouffach to represent him, and for her touching words. The organizers would also like to express their gratitude to all the speakers and supporters of this Colloque. Yours sincerely, Manfred Ackenheil, MD Jean-Paul Macher, MD
